“Moderation?
It's mediocrity, fear, and confusion in disguise. It's the devil's dilemma.
It's neither doing nor not doing. It's the wobbling compromise that's makes no one happy.
Moderation is for the bland, the apologetic, for the fence sitters of the world afraid to take a stand.
It's for those afraid to laugh or cry, for those afraid to live or die.
Moderation... is lukewarm tea, the devil's own brew.”
- Dan Millman

About me

  • After spending approximately 10 years abroad, primarily in the Middle East, I have recently returned to the beautiful North Coast of Northern Ireland.

"To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all." - Oscar Wilde

    Some of my passions are:

Technology - This includes GIS, all types of software and hardware and an almost unhealthy passion for data & spreadsheets :)
I personally think we are living in a very exciting technological time.

Soft Skills - I also have a passion for training and tutoring, managing and working on all types of projects. There is plenty of soft skill information easily available nowadays and there are some great new ideas on how to inspire and get the best from a team.

Art - Personally, I believe that art of all types from architecture and sculptures to music to paintings and photography help to stimulate the human brain. I think everyone should try and expose themselves to some sort of new art at least every week.

Nature - This is the ultimate art. Mother Nature provides us with some of the most beautiful sounds and visions we can possibly experience.

Travel - Some people don't like airports or travelling. However, I am of the school that the journey is part of the experience. I also believe that the two best things to insipre the young are good education and travel.

Outdoors - Mountains and sea, I used to do a lot of scuba diving, boating and generally getting out on the water. My other outdoor love is to get up into the mountains and do a bit of hill walking whatever the weather.

Oh, and obviously my name is Brian :-)
